Postdoctoral Position – Postdoctoral Research Trainee – Cardiovascular Science

The faculty mentor for this position will be Dr.SULEIMAN W BAHOUTH. Duties of the post-doctoral trainee are to conduct vigorous research on molecular cellular aspects of signaling by the beta-1-adrenergic receptors in cardiac myocytes and neurons. These duties involve culture of cells from established cell lines as well as primary cultures of neuronal or cardiac cells derived from neonatal rats or from transgenic mice.

Qualifications: The Postdoctoral Research Trainee is expected to have a Ph.D. in Pharmacology or the cardiovascular sciences. The Postdoctoral Research Trainee is expected to have expertise in culture of primary cells, confocal and FRET microscopy and in the proper handling of adeno and lentiviruses that will be used in transfections. In addition, prior expertise in the analysis of protein-protein interactions by co-IP’s, pull downs and by western blotting is a plus.

Salary will be commensurate with relevant experience and based on the prevailing wage for postdoctoral fellows set by the state of Tennessee Department of Labor.
