Description
Two Bioinformatics Specialists (Ref HoL03/2009)
As part of the TSL expanded mission and increased activities in bioinformatics and high-throughput functional genomics, we are also seeking two Bioinformatics Specialists who will use their biological expertise to contribute to annotation and evolutionary analyses of host and pathogen genes involved in plant-microbe interactions. The candidates will join the team responsible for the analysis and annotation of phytopathogen and plant genomic sequence with an emphasis on genes encoding pathogen secreted proteins and plant innate immunity receptors. These two posts will report to the Head of Bioinformatics.
For these posts we are seeking individuals at any stage of their career but candidates with prior postdoctoral experience are particularly encouraged to apply. Applicants should have a background in molecular biology, computational biology, microbiology, plant biology or a related field. Experience with bioinformatics is preferred but not required.
Salary will be within the UEA ALC staff Grade 7, at between £29,704 and £37,651 per annum and the appointment level will reflect the qualifications, skills, knowledge and achievements of the successful candidates. These are full time positions and will be available for two years in the first instance from 1st October 2009.
