Description
Two highly motivated individuals are wanted for two postdoctoralpositions in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine atEmory University School of Medicine, Atlanta, Georgia, USA. Strongmolecular biology training is required. Neuroscience background andbiochemical protein purification technique is a plus. These twopositions are available immediately and the salary is dependent on the experience.
The primary focus of my lab is molecular mechanisms of neuronal cellsurvival. Specifically, we concentrate on the nuclear PI 3-kinasebiological functions in NGF signaling cascade in the nucleus. Inaddition, we are interested in dissecting neurofibromatosis NF2’smolecular regulation and functions. Future research projects include:
a) Nuclear PI 3-kinase/Akt signaling in neuronal cell survival
b) PIKE conditional knockout mice
c) PIKE’s role in neuronal cell survival
d) The molecular mechanism of tumor suppressive activity of NF2
