Job Description:
Aquaculture Genetics and Breeding Laboratory at the Ohio State University South Centers has active genetics and breeding projects in fish. The candidates will be working on marker-assisted selection using microsatellite or SNP tools to improve growth rate and other economic traits of fish, focusing on the parentage analysis and QTL mapping. We primarily seek candidates with MS and PhD degrees in molecular biology or animal genetics. Experience with fish molecular biology, quantitative genetics and selective breeding is desirable. The candidate must be comfortable working as a member of research team, and have good data analysis, statistics, and writing skills.
We have an international joint-training program with other institutions. Currently registered graduate students in other institutions who are interested in doing above research at OSU are also welcome to apply for and join our joint Ph.D. training program as a visiting student or scholar. We provide research funds, studentship and housing.
