HHMI’s Janelia Farm Research Campus is a unique, world-class research community near Washington, D.C., dedicated to understanding the function of neural circuits and developing synergistic imaging technology. Our highly collaborative structure is designed to support interdisciplinary work in small lab groups.

The Keller Lab is focused on reconstructing and understanding neural development. We have an opening for a Postdoctoral Associate who is interested in exploring the cell behavior underlying the formation of the central nervous system by combining cutting-edge live imaging, quantitative image processing and computational modeling.

Principal Responsibilities:
• Develop in vivo imaging approaches to follow cell behavior in entire Drosophila and Zebra-fish embryos.
• Develop and apply computational approaches to automated image processing and data analysis from complex light microscopy recordings of entire developing embryos.
• Analyze system-level cell behavior underlying the formation of the central nervous system.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Ph.D. in Physics, Biology, or Computer Science.
• Experience with live imaging using fluorescence light microscopy.
• Experience with computational image processing and data analysis.
• Experience working with Drosophila or Zebra-fish.
