Description: A suitably qualified candidate is sought for the above position to workon a new five year projected funded by EPSRC entitled "Bubbletherapy: a New Paradigm for Targeted Drug Delivery by Ultrasound".The project with be carried out in the Biomedical Ultrasonics andBiotherapy Laboratory (BUBL), which forms part of the new OxfordInstitute of Biomedical Engineering in the Department of EngineeringScience, in collaboration with industrial partners and the Departmentsof Surgery and Biochemistry. This post is available from 1st October2007 and is for 30 months.
The successful candidate will have a post-graduate degree in acousticsor ultrasonics, or related area of mechanical, electrical or biomedicalengineering. Strong experimental skills and competence in boththeoretical and experimental acoustics are essential. Excellentcommunication skills and a demonstrable ability to work in amultidisciplinary team that includes biologists and clinicians are alsorequired. Some prior experience of working with biological media and ontherapeutic ultrasound-induced bio effects is desirable.
The starting salary will be in Grade 7 £27,465 ? £29,138
