Description:

The Laboratory for Neural Circuits and Cognitive Control of Prof. Stefan Everling and Dr. Thilo Womelsdorf at the Centre for Brain and Mind in London, Ontario, Canada, invites applications for Postdoc positions. Funding for these positions is provided by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research.

Research in our laboratories focuses on the neural basis of attentional control and response inhibition. We employ multiple-electrode neurophysiology in nonhuman primates to study local and large- scale neural circuits that underlie the cognitive control of behaviour and also use 7T high-field functional magnetic resonance imaging. Other techniques in the lab include iontophoresis, microstimulation, and cortical inactivation by cooling.

The ideal candidate will have programming experience with Matlab and prior research experience in one or more of the following areas: psychophysical and/or oculomotor experiments, electrophysiological recordings, and functional MR imaging.

As part of the Centre for Brain and Mind at the University of Western Ontario, we offer a stimulating and growing research environment, and excellent opportunities for collaborative research in visual neuroscience, using cognitive and neuroimaging techniques at a 7 Tesla research scanner.

The University of Western Ontario is in the city of London (population 460,000) located 170 km west of Toronto. London is at the heart of Southwestern Ontario, situated between Lake Erie and Lake Huron, about 2 hours away from Niagara Falls.
