Description:

Applications are invited for postdoctoral positions at Northwestern University. Openings are available in the Departments of Mechanical Engineering and Chemistry. Successful candidates will participate in a vibrant interdisciplinary research group and be involved in a Multi-University Research Initiative (MURI) pursuing bio-inspired nanocomposites design, fabrication, characterization, and modeling. The team includes scientists from the Northwestern International Institute for Nanotechnology, MIT, Nebraska and MER Corporation.

Requirements:

A Ph.D. in Chemistry, Engineering, Materials Science, Physics or a related field
Working experience in nanoscale science and/or engineering, including at least two of the following areas: Raman spectroscopy, confocal/electron microscopy, polymer chemistry, nanostructure synthesis, continuum/molecular dynamics/quantum mechanics modeling
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
