Description

A post-doctoral research associate position is available immediately to study the function of Bcl-2 family proteins on biological membranes. The position requires a PhD degree in biochemistry or molecular and cellular biology. The successful applicant will investigate mitochondrial outer membrane permeabilization in apoptosis using sophisticated in vitro systems (Cell 111, 331-342; Mol Cell 17, 525-35; Curr Op Cell Biol 15, 691-9) with biochemical approaches and electron microscopy-based imaging technology. Prior experience with organellar fractionation, protein purification, recombinant proteins, membrane proteins, molecular cloning and electron microscopy is desirable, but not required.
