Description
Applications are invited for a post-doctoral associate position toinvestigate the genetic and biological determinants of environmentallung disease. Recent work has focused on the genes and environmentalfactors that regulate host innate immunity and the genetic regulation ofenvironmental airways disease in both murine models and humans. Theexperimental approaches include; controlled exposure studies inrodents/humans, molecular biology, rodent/human genetics, epigenetics,and cell biology.
Candidates should have an MD and/or PhD degree and experience inimmunology/genetics/epigenetics. Applicants with experience in lungbiology and animal models are preferred, but not required. Excellentcommunication skills are required. Post-doctoral trainees will join theEnvironmental Lung Disease group lead by Dr. John W. Hollingsworth atDuke University Medical Center. Salary is commensurate with experiencefollowing NIH and University institutional guidelines. Expected startingdate is between November 2008 and March 2009.
