Description
Salary scale for University Grade 7: £26,666 – £32,796 per annum
We are seeking an experienced post-doctoral molecular biologist to joina programme investigating the mechanism of antigenic variation inmalaria. This is a crucial area of research, since understanding howimmune evasion strategies are regulated by the parasite could lead tonovel interventions. You will join a group with a proven track record inthis area and will benefit from the long-term collaborations that existwith the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute and a number of malaria fieldsites. You will hold a PhD in a relevant field and will have experiencein two or more of the following areas: cellular genetic manipulationtechniques, general molecular biology, DNA - protein interactions,chromosome immunoprecipitation or phage display. You should have a goodrecord of publication in peer reviewed international journals.Experience of working with pathogenic micro-organisms would be an advantage.
This position is funded by the Wellcome Trust and is available for up tofive years.
