The Centro de Investigación del Cáncer (CIC) of Salamanca has TWOPOSTDOCTORAL POSITIONS available in the laboratory of Dr. XOSÉ R.BUSTELO for studying cytoskeletal regulators involved in cancer andother pathologies such as hypertension, cardiovascular disease,metabolic syndrome and immunodeficiencies.
Work in the lab includes the functional characterization of Vav familyoncoproteins, Rho/Rac and Ras GTPases, and both positive (GEF) andnegative (GAPs) regulators of Ras superfamily GTPases. We also haveinterest on signal transduction pathways mediated by tyrosine kinasesthat have an impact in the cell cytoskeleton, motility, and proliferation.

We are looking for postdoctoral fellows with demonstrated experience insome of the following techniques: i) generation and work with knockoutanimals, ii) signal transduction and cell Biology, iii) cancer, iv)cardiovascular biology, v) neurobiology, vi) T-cell signaling orimmunology. In addition to this expertise, applicants should have hadprior experience in a foreign laboratory as graduate students or postdocs.
Salaries will be competitive at UE standards and negotiable depending onexperience and publication record. Benefits include contributions to theSpanish Social Security System for both Medical and Retirement Coverage.
Positions are for two years with possibility of subsequent renewals.There are no nationality restrictions.
Positions are available immediately but will be opened until October 2008.
