POST-DOCTORAL RESEARCH FELLOW

The laboratory in the discipline of Respiratory and Sleep Medicine is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and innovative post-doctoral fellow to assist in the development and conduct of research projects using experimental models of airway inflammation and infection and to provide high level laboratory support to our clinical research program.

Reporting to Respiratory Physician, Professor Peter Gibson, you will take a leading role in the development of new diagnostic tests and markers of clinical disease activity for translational research in asthma and airways disease. You would also be required to assist with our primary airway in-vitro tissue culture models and the development of experiments studying the effects of airway inflammation and virus infection in this context.

Applications from individuals with research interests within respiratory medicine or virology will be given priority, however the primary criterion of success will be research excellence.

This position is available on a full-time fixed term basis for two (2) years with the possibility of extension depending on performance and funding availability.

Academic Level
A $47,384 to $64,304
B $67,698 to $80,382
Salary level within this range will be dependent on the qualifications and experience of the successful applicant.
