Area of responsibilities/description of the work:
The Ivanka Savic group is a member of the Stockholm Brain Institute (SBI) for cognitive and computational neuroscience (www.stockholmbrain.se). The centre has a widespread expertise in neuroimaging methods including fMRI,DTIandPET.
This position focuses on studies of the impact of sex hormones and sex chromosome genes on brain and behavior. The successful applicant will be involved in data collection and analyses from brain imaging and neuropsychological investigations, as well as the publication process. This is a multidisciplinary study, part of which may be carried out in collaboration with the Brain Research Institute atUCLA.
Qualifications
The successful applicant is a highly talented, innovative and enthusiastic researcher, with a PhD in the field of human brain and behavior, with focus on brain imaging. The ideal candidate for the post doc position will have expertise in the acquisition and analysis ofMRI(VBM,DTI, fMRI) and good programming skills. Applicants with no imaging experience but with a strong track record in cognitive neuroscience or neuropsychiatry or neuroendocrinology are also encouraged to apply.
Applicants should be able to demonstrate a consistently outstanding academic record, including publications in international journals. To qualify, the applicant must hold a doctor’s degree or a foreign qualification deemed equivalent to a doctorate. Applicants who have completed their degree no more than three years before the last date for applications should be given priority. Candidates who have completed their degree earlier than this should receive equal priority if special grounds exist.
This position is primarily for researchers with experience from MR andPETstudies of the human brain.
Postgraduates who have yet to graduate may apply if their public defense is scheduled to take place within three months after the application deadline, in which case verification from the Dissertation Committee or equivalent body must be submitted with the application.
