POSTDOCTORAL POSITION
BAYLOR COLLEGE OF MEDICINE
A postdoctoral position is available to study molecular mechanisms ofstress-induced mutagenesis in E. coli. We are usingfluorescence-activated cell sorting, FISH, in vivo-DNA cleavage withregulatable I-SceI endonuclease, whole-genome sequencing, and othermodern adjuncts to analytical bacterial molecular genetics and molecularbiology to address key questions relevant to mutagenesis that drivesbacterial evolution, including to antibiotic resistance. Successfulcandidates will join a dynamic lab centered in the world renowned TexasMedical Center in Houston. Applicants should have a Ph.D. and a strongbackground in molecular biology and genetics. Experience in bacterialgenetics desirable. Other projects on DNA damage and repair also available.
