Description
A postdoctoral position is available to investigate the mechanism of retinoic acid (RA) signaling during early organogenesis in mouse embryos. Our laboratory has demonstrated that retinaldehyde dehydrogenase-2 (Raldh2) controls RA synthesis needed for proper differentiation of tissues emerging from the primitive streak (Nature Cell Biol. 8: 271-277; 2006). We are searching for a postdoctoral scientist to explore the nature of RA target tissues, target genes, and crosstalk between the RA, FGF, and Wnt signaling pathways.
The Burnham Institute for Medical Research is a non-profit research organization with more than 700 employees whose mission is basic research in molecular, cellular, and developmental biology. It is located within the Torrey Pines Research Park of San Diego.
